Inferno is a professionally presented concept art series, based on Dante Alighieri’s epic poem of the same name. It shows an iterative design process, starting at basic research and following a working pipeline through to finished, polished concept pieces.Inferno will throw the 14th century poem forwards into a futuristic, Gothic setting, where Dante, Virgil and Beatrice will be redesigned as a part of the process. RETRO ROLLER DERBY
Design Document
A number of first hand photos of roller derby skaters was taken to understand motion and movement on skates, and it was combined with an element of 1950s pin up portraiture, to produce a pretty, strong, ‘pin up-esque’ derby girl illustration. Current motorsport brands and sponsors were also added, to enhance the implication that the character is a modern derby skater. (Click picture to download)
